NEW CPD WEBINAR GOES LIVE: SUMMER ACCOUNTING UPDATE 2019

12th July 2019

As part of Lifecycle’s continuing commitment to free accountant training, the recent series of Summer Accounting Update sessions, which took place at 13 venues across the country, has now been completed.

For those accountants that weren’t able to attend one of these popular events, or for those who would like to share the content with their colleagues, a 90 minute webinar version of the seminar is now available.

The changes to FRS 102 and 105 as a result of the first triennial review have been finalised and will apply to accounting periods commencing on or after 1st January 2019. In light of this, we were delighted to welcome back Val Steward to take a look at some of the key issues that accountants need to be aware of.

In the sessions, Val addressed the following:

• What the key changes are and how this will impact on the financial statements
• Common issues still being reported on the accounts
• Brexit considerations

Additionally, she offered some practical guidance on a number of regulatory and compliance matters:

• The latest position on Money Laundering as a result of OPBAS regulation and issues with GDPR
• Practice protection – common issues that can result in claims and how to help protect against them

The free CPD webinar is open to Lifecycle members who can view it by clicking here to access their personal dashboard. For those accountants who are not yet a member, simply click here to register and then view the webinar from the training section of the website.

The next regional events will be the Autumn Tax Update, delivered by Lifecycle regular Gerry Jackson, which will be taking place in October.

All venues are now available for Lifecycle members to book online via the training section of the members’ area – just click here.
