The Lifecycle Network – A Year On: Views From Our Members

17th May 2017

As Lifecycle hits 1000 members, the accountancy network – provided by the Leonard Curtis Business Solutions Group (LCBSG) – met with some of those accountants who have already signed up.

In the video below, Robert Renshaw – from Renshaw Chartered Accountants in Cheshire – talks about working with the Group and the Lifecycle membership benefits that he enjoys.

As Robert explains, during the six years that he has been working with LCBSG – the Group deals with all of his client restructuring and insolvency work – the specialist team has always been “very client-focused” and “very good at picking up the client’s problem and providing a solution.”

More importantly, “that solution doesn’t necessarily mean an immediate insolvency. We work together to find the right solution for that client.”

How Lifecycle can help your business grow

Lifecycle is a service offering developed to meet the needs of today’s SME accountant’s client base – a business population that offers huge opportunities to those firms best equipped to provide the increasingly specialist support they require.

Figures show that small businesses accounted for 99.3% within the private sector at the start of last year. Then take into account total employment figures of 15.6 million – or 60% of all private sector employment in the UK – and it’s clear to see how valuable an extensive accountancy offering can be to a business at every stage of its lifecycle.

The benefits for Lifecycle members

Once a member of the Lifecycle network, accountants will immediately be able to reap the benefits of doing so. These include eligibility for a hugely competitive Professional Indemnity insurance scheme, access to free CPD qualifying training and education as well as discounts on products and services relevant to their own and their clients’ needs.

The solutions and support that Lifecycle provides

“Our development and introduction of Lifecycle comes hot on the heels of the larger firms’ entry into the start-up and SME space,” explains Lifecycle Director Rik Heap. “The UK’s leading players are now offering small business owners a range of cloud-based bookkeeping and accounting services such as payroll, VAT and corporate tax returns. Then add collaborations with banks and software companies and the competition faced by smaller accountancy firms operating within this market starts to get tough.

“We’ve created the Lifecycle network to support those small to medium sized firms who have long been providing excellent accountancy services to SMEs – to help them to maintain ground and indeed grow their capabilities in the face of such competition. Lifecycle is designed to deliver insight and provide solutions to those issues and specialist service requirements that accountants and their clients face.

“When developing Lifecycle we sought the opinions of many firms to understand which services would make a difference to their business and to those of the clients they represent. As a result, we provide a breadth of specialist services to supplement their core offering.”

The services that Lifecycle offers

“These range from company secretarial and formation services and all types of finance raising to corporate restructuring, insolvency and cessation. We have also further broadened our offering to include legal services and a specialist property team in addition to our new online software to simplify the process for solvent liquidations, appropriately named My-MVL.

“Many accountancy firms have already joined the Lifecycle network and we are looking forward to further strengthening our offering and reach as we work alongside our partners to help ensure their future success and profitability.”
