Lifecycle Asks Accountants to Help Shape its CPD

5th July 2018

With over 50 free-to-attend CPD seminars and 2 live webinars undertaken to date, UK accountancy network Lifecycle is asking for input into the design of future training events.

With more than 1,750 members, Lifecycle – provided by the Leonard Curtis Business Solutions Group (LCBSG) – is conducting a short online survey to find out exactly what the nation’s accountants want to learn more about. As an extra incentive, all respondents will be entered into a free prize draw to win a case of wine.

Previous topics of the ever-popular and well-attended sessions – and subsequent on-demand CPD webinars made available to members – include updates on everything from tax and AML legislation to changes to the Commercial Real Estate environment. Advice on the complexities of advising and supporting SME business owners has also been covered, with the most recent providing guidance on preparation for GDPR.

The events are hosted by Lifecycle, often in collaboration with partner specialists and thought-leaders from CPD topic areas.

Rik Heap, Director at LCBSG, said: “Accountants have to complete as much development activity as is required to remain competent in the role. There are so many changes and updates to the legislative guidelines within which they work, it’s sometimes difficult to keep abreast of them. Add to that the cost of attending CPD, and it becomes an extra challenge for many SME accountants.

“This is exactly why we’ve committed to providing an ongoing programme of free CPD training to all of our accountant members – through a series of nationwide seminars, live webinars and subsequent on-demand recordings for those unable to attend the live events. And of course, we always provide refreshments and ample opportunity for discussion and networking, which makes for both enjoyable and informative sessions.”
